Please don't tell me...

who wins the Bachelorette. We will be on Mission Trip Sunday through Saturday, and we will have to watch it online when we return. I would be so sad if I found out beforehand...so be nice, don't tell. :)

Tonight's episode was sad, but I am super happy she didn't get rid of Jason. Her breakup with Jeremy was very sad though. Poor guy. He lives in Dallas-one of you single ladies should look him up! :) Ha ha.

Bachelorette Drama

Lately I've been finding myself counting down the days until the next episode of the Bachelorette. It's finally here. Tonight at seven. 2 hours long--one hour where the men tell all & one hour of bachelorette fun. Casey and I are hooked on this show. We decided that this season has been much more entertaining than previous Bachelors and Bachelorettes. These men have brought just as much drama as some of those crazy women from the Bachelor.

The Bachelorette has really been our only consistent show this summer...although we have watched one hour of Wipeout. If you haven't watched Wipeout you should watch it tomorrow night (Tuesdays at 7 or 8...not sure). I don't think that this is a show we will watch weekly, but it is definitely good enough to watch every once in a while. Last week there were some hilarious spills.

Anyway, back to the Bachelorette...I cannot wait to see the interaction between DeAnna and Graham on the Men Tell All part of the show. The previews look good. I cannot express to you enough how much I want DeAnna to pick Jason. I think he is an awesome guy, and I love his little boy. They would be a cute family :) I know there has been much speculation about Jeremy, but I still like him, too. My only problem with him is that there doesn't seem to be much fun, laughing times with him. They are either serious or romantic. Jason has the fun factor. That is why he is my pick. GO JASON!

6 Married Months!

Today, Sunday the 29th, is our 6 month anniversary as a married couple! We were talking, and we decided that it has flown by in so many ways, but at the same time it feels like we've been married even longer! Ha ha. In other words, our wedding day feels like it was yesterday, but we've made so many memories already, it is surprising that they all fit into a 6 month period! Our actual anniversary day is filled with church, tear down, and then a fun night at Splash Kingdom (a water park in Canton) for baptism and family fun, so we decided to celebrate the night before!

We went to Maguire's off of the Dallas North Tollway. Neither of us had ever been there, and we both thoroughly enjoyed it! We shared an excellent appetizer that was kind of like a tostada, but it was made of flat bread topped with cheese, pico de gallo, and really good grilled chicken. Casey even liked it and that's saying something! For our entree we both ordered the Cajun Chicken Penne Pasta that was also great!

At dinner Casey asked me what things I most liked about our marriage thus far. I said that I liked the fact that he got up with me in the mornings during student teaching and had breakfast with me before I left for school! I know that he didn't have to be at work until a good hour and a half after I did, so it meant a lot that he would get out of bed early to start his day with me. I also said I liked decorating our condo together, ie. hanging pictures, putting together furniture, etc. Casey said that he just liked living together everyday and being around each other (after having a long distance relationship it means a lot to be around each other)! He also said that he enjoyed our trip to Galveston--I would've said this as well, but I thought vacations were off limits for this question. After dinner Casey gave me a gift card to Massage Envy for a 90 minute massage! I am so stoked about that! Isn't he thoughtful?

On our way home we stopped at Blockbuster to rent a movie. We then headed over to Starbucks where I used a gift card (from graduation) to get a Green Tea Frappucino (yum!)--that delicious coffee drink is probably a big reason why I am still up at this hour when I know I have to get up early for church!

Anyway, here is a picture commemorating our 6 month anniversary celebration!

Thank you for a wonderful 6 months together ~ I love you!

Smelly Leftovers!

About a week ago I went through the refrigerator trying to make some room. I realized that there were about ten Tupperware items full of leftover food. I started looking at some that were in the very back and noticed that some of them had been in there for over a month...guess who put them in there...not me. Ha ha. So, I took them all out and put them on the counter. I could've been nice and thrown it all away and washed all of the containers, but I decided that I would let Casey see how many leftovers he had put in the fridge without ever giving a second glance or taking them out when he realized he wouldn't be eating. I guess you could say I was trying to teach him a lesson, haha. Well, when he came home and saw them all, I told him and we laughed about it. However, the next morning I woke up and they were still there, but I had to leave right away to embark upon my busy weekend with Amanda's wedding activities. A couple days later, Casey and I came home from their rehearsal dinner and noticed a slight smell. I had been gone all day and immediately looked to see if the containers were still on the counter by the sink. Sure enough, they were. I found it hysterical when Casey went to open one and almost lost his dinner over the kitchen sink. I took the pleasure of taking some pictures of him as he cleaned out the containers, while blocking out the smell with a towel tied around his head! We had a good laugh about it! :)

Amanda's Bachelorette Party!

Tonight was Amanda's bachelorette party! It was a lot of fun! We went to Simply Fondue on Greenville in Dallas. I LOVE Simply Fondue. Casey & I have been there on several occasions, and I love it every time. My table got dessert for dinner! We had the Swirl chocolate fondue (which is milk chocolate and white chocolate together) yum! They added some new dipping items--rice crispy treat and a brownie. Those were good, but my favorite is still the cake! :) It was a lot of fun laughing with the girls and catching up. I always have so much fun with them! We should hang more often girlies! Love y'all! And congrats Amanda!!! It's pretty much here now! :)

They have never lit the chocolate on fire before so this was my first time to roast marshmallows over fondue!

I caught mine on fire-it tasted good! :)

It was a good night! I am excited for the wedding! This will be my first time to be a bridesmaid! Yea!

An Apple for the Teacher

Today I went to the school and my principal was there! Yea!! I got a tour of the school, and I got to see my classroom! Very exciting! I took some pictures so that I can start thinking about what things I need to buy and what I need to put where! I can't wait to start buying stuff and moving stuff in. There wasn't a desk in there yet or I would go ahead and start moving office supplies in! Ha ha. Anyway, hope you enjoy the pictures!

The front of my brand new school!

The front of my empty classroom! (I'll probably put my desk in that left corner...or maybe the opposite corner...I am not sure)!

I'm gonna need another bookshelf! This is the reading room after all!

Okay, this part is a little weird. There are lockers in all the classrooms-even kindergarten. I guess lockers have replaced cubby holes. Oh well! I am just upset that it is a wasted wall!

Alright, well that is it! Stay tuned for Amanda's wedding festivity pictures! Tonight, bachelorette party! Tomorrow bridal lunch, manicures/pedicures, and rehearsal dinner! Saturday wedding day!

School Closed!

Today I was so excited because I got an email from my principal saying that today would be the first day that my school would be open to view! It is a brand new school and was just finished recently. It is still being finished off so it does not have internet service or even a phone, so I couldn't call to say I was on my way. The email I received said that the secretary would be there starting today and that she would be there Monday-Friday for the entire summer. So, I went to Forney to see my classroom for the very first time. I had my camera ready and was excited to figure out where I would like to put things and what I needed to buy, etc. Well, when I got to the school no one was there. All of the doors were locked. Casey knocked on all of the doors, but still, nothing. I was totally bummed. I will try again tomorrow so stay posted! I plan to post some "before" pictures when I finally get in!

Apparently we're blogging...

So, I (Lauren) decided to start a blog! I've tried this before (back when xanga was cool), and it lasted a year or so, but now I'm back! Ha ha. I think it will be a cool way to keep family and friends updated...so here we go!

Casey and I were at youth camp all week--it was awesome! The theme was "Addicted," and the kids loved it. When we got off of the bus, we handed them all bracelets that said, "What happens at camp, doesn't stay at camp." It is just to remind them to tell their friends about what happened at camp and not just let it be a memory, but a real change in their lives. Casey and I were absolutely exhausted, and the first thing we did when we got home was take a long and very needed nap! We went to Snuffer's afterwards for some good ole cheese fries. Since then, we've been just as busy as before! Saturday we had two weddings to attend, one of which, we were the videographers! This was the first time we have done this. Casey is the mastermind--he can do all of the cool editing. I am excited to see how it turns out! After the weddings we went out to eat with his parents, sister, brother-in-law, and their little boy Caleb! It is always fun to see him because he just gets cuter & more talkative every time! Before they left, I carried him out to the car, and he pointed up and said, "goodnight moon!" It was so cute. :)Sunday we went to church and then had our usual naptime afterward. Casey is always sleepy on Sundays because he gets up really early to set up! We asked a bunch of youth and college kids to play some volleyball last night and had a great turnout! It was a lot of fun! I actually did okay due to my crash course with Casey...he is determined to make me good enough to play with him. Ha ha.

Here are a few pics from camp and the weddings!
