Baby #2: Week 22

Week 22

Baby Changes: At 11 inches (the length of spaghetti squash) and almost 1 pound, my baby is starting to look like a miniature newborn. His lips, eyelids, and eyebrows are becoming more distinct, and he's even developing tiny tooth buds beneath his gums. His eyes have formed, but his irises still lack pigment. He now has fine hair (lanugo) that covers his body and the deep wrinkles on his skin, which he'll sport until he adds a padding of fat to fill them in. Inside his belly, his pancreas--essential for the production of some important hormones--is developing steadily.

Best moment this week: This was actually a pretty rough week with a trip to the ER for Sawyer (and almost a 2nd trip as well!), but for 1 hour on Saturday I got to experience an amazing prenatal massage from La Bella Belly in Rockwall. Casey surprised me on Thursday with flowers, a card, and a gift card to get a massage and I couldn't wait to use it! :)

Gender: BOY! :) Seriously hoping to be able to announce a name soon…people have been asking a lot lately and I feel like we have "The Name," but am just waiting on Casey to agree/make up his mind/give in/nail it down. :)

Movement: This little boy kicks and moves and squirms almost all day and night. Sometimes its difficult to fall asleep because that seems to be his favorite position for kicking me :)

Food cravings: Ugh, Dr Pepper. I just can't help myself!!!

What I am looking forward to: I am *hoping* to do something anything in the nursery or for the nursery this week.

Pregnant belly: I have gotten to the point now where I look at my belly in the mirror and think "how is it going to get bigger than this?!" It already feels and looks like it will pop. Haha!

Symptoms: fatigue (although that's probably just due to lack of sleep with Sawyer being sick), backaches still, but have gotten better!

My 22 week picture at the end of a long day. :)

I Heart Valentine's Day!

Casey is good at Valentine's Day. I'm pretty sure I made that clear in last year's post. So, to make it short, here was our Valentine's Day in 2011! I was at school when I was delivered flowers by my sweet husband!

Then that night we went to Benihana's for dinner! It was my first time there and it was delicious! :)
After dinner we came home and exchanged our gifts to one another! Casey got me a $150 gift card to a spa in Rockwall and I got him a book of over 80 pages that I had filled out about him - stuff that I know about him and love about him. I was surprised at how much he liked the gift! I didn't know how he'd react at all! Meanwhile, I am looking forward to going to get my massage! :)
Laughing at Casey's crazy card - it was pretty funny!
Anyway, Casey did a great job at being romantic on our 7th Valentine's Day and 4th married one! I love him very much and am thankful that he decides each year to do something special for me on this silly holiday! :)

Birthday Par-tay

The night of my birthday, Casey & I, along with 7 of my favorite friends went to Bucca di Beppo for dinner! Casey rented the Pope's room because he knows I've been looking forward to sitting in their someday. It is private room with a huge, round table that has a massive Lazy Susan in the middle to pass around the family-style dishes! And I, being the birthday girl, got to sit in the Pope's chair! It was much fun!

In the Pope's chair! Haha!
My love & I:)
Look at those funny candles! I thought it was pretty neat :)
With my not-so-tasty cupcake that I thought was more like a giant muffin!

Luckily Casey bought me these awesome Sprinkles cupcakes and so it did not matter that the Bucca muffin wasn't good! ;)
With the balloons that Casey got - so sweet :)
Playing Apples to Apples
it was fun and at times, very funny!
Thank you Casey for throwing me a great party! :)
He even put up a banner!
Sorry that was picture overload, but I wanted to document it well. Have a great night and a terrific Friday!!

Valentine's Day

I have the BEST Valentine. I don't mean to brag, but there are very few husbands who do a better job on the 14th of February than mine. My goodness.

It still surprises me each year because our first Valentine's Day back in 2005 was quite a big deal. We had only been dating 3 months, and he went all out. His parents said, "You messed up now. You'll never be able to out do yourself." Haha. He did go a great job then - made me a fantastic dinner with dessert by candlelight, had flowers delivered to my house, gave me presents, and took me to see Grease on Broadway. That is pretty awesome.

Second dating Valentine's Day - sent me two dozen pink, white, and red roses in a very cool vintage box. I received them at my apartment at A&M.

Third dating Valentine's Day - he had a single rose placed on my door step in College Station by Matt Cain since he was in Dallas. Matt rang the doorbell, and when I opened the door no one was there but a single rose laying on the ground. I was on the phone with Casey when this happened and he said, "Happy Valentine's Day." This was 2 weeks before he proposed, so he went with a simple touch, and I soon got the full romantic get up! Very special.

First married Valentine's Day - he again had flowers delivered, gave me presents, and we had a fancy dinner.

Second married Valentine's Day - made me breakfast in bed served with a dozen roses on my tray, gave me presents, and another nice dinner.

Third married Valentine's Day was this year.

I woke up to some noise in the kitchen and I was pretty sure he actually left the house while I was still in bed (I was right). He brought me breakfast in bed, this time without the roses, so as not to repeat last year.=)
After breakfast I was told there was another small surprise. He took me outside where he sheepishly showed me a sweet message in the snow. I love it because I love when he is cheezy (it's so hard for him, haha).
After that we did different things... Casey worked on some homework and I watched some TV. Later we had plans to go to dinner at a "surprise location." I got ready to go and we were about to leave when Casey said, "Hey come look at the snowman. It's melting." I thought this was a little odd because I was running a little late, but I looked out the front door. On the porch there was a gift bag and a dozen red roses in a vase with some greenery and mini pink carnations. I was delighted! Flowers afterall! Haha. I took them both to the kitchen table and opened my present to find a dress from Target that I had seen a month or so ago. I love it!! It's super cute! Ps. These pictures are pre-mascara (I had planned on doing it in the car=).
Then we left and Casey took several "trick turns" to the Oar House. He had me thinking that we were going to Dallas for dinner, but it was really in Rockwall! I was excited because I didn't want to get stuck in Valentine's Day Dallas traffic. Dinner was yummy and we were sat by none other than Paul & Jill McDill! That part was funny! We enjoyed talking them to a little though!
After dinner we drove across the parking lot to the movies to see When in Rome. That movie wasn't too great so the next day Casey took me to see Valentine's Day after church! That movie was better.

It was a GREAT Valentine's Day - mainly because I have such a spectacular husband for a Valentine. He isn't like a lot of guys who complain and grumble about V-day. He uses it as an opportunity to show me some love!=)

Date Night

Last Friday night when I got home from work Casey had a whole date night planned for us! We had dinner at Truluck's in Dallas and then stayed at the Sheraton by the Galleria. It was a great night to end the summer before school started today!
The next day we had a great shopping trip at the Galleria! It was tax free weekend, but it wasn't too bad at all. We both had gift cards- me to Forever 21 and Macy's and Casey's was to Old Navy- they were both for a small amount, but due to some great sales and everything being tax free, Casey didn't pay a dime and I only paid $5 for everything that I got! When you see the pictures, you'll know how great that is!!

Here are some pictures from our fun evening!

My crab for dinner :) It was good!
Our yummy dessert!

Me dressed up for our date!

Notice Lucy in the background! :)
My 8 items for only $5! A dress, shirt, belt, emory board, and necklace from Forever 21 and my $100 shoes on sale for $25 (which happened to be the amount my gift card was for!) and earrings from Macy's! The only thing I paid for isn't even in the picture...it's a little polo for Lucy from Old Navy. On sale for $5 :) Great trip overall!
This might be a lame post to some of you, but I love hitting some great sales and getting out without paying any of my own cash! :)
