Girls Night: Kristen's Pokeno

I love my pokeno girls and nights out with them! This last pokeno Casey kept Sawyer at home and I met the girls at Buca di Beppo (which I love!) and then to Kristen's apartment for ice cream sundaes and the game! I won a super cute little zipper purse from Fossil that Jenna brought. Yay!

6 Chix Reunion

Tonight was our annual 6 Chix Christmas dinner! We have met at Christmastime since we were in high school to exchange presents and now to catch up! I hope we continue this tradition for many years to come!

Rachel got a cute sign (that I actually own myself and so does Amanda:), I got a $10 Starbucks gift card, and Amanda got this cute crocheted ear warmer (like a beanie, but without the top)

Crystal got the Olive Garden gift card and Lauren got the ornament that I had made! It says 6 Chix and it has all of our names on the bears' hats :)

Galveston Girl Trip!

In July, Lauren and I had a blast visiting Rachel in Galveston! Rachel already blogged about this with the same pictures, so I'll make this one brief :)

I'm a Total Twi-hard.

First of all, let me just say that it is insane that it is already July 1st. I can't believe it. Summer loves to pass me by quickly…it's as if Summer hates me and knows it's my favorite season. Summer is such a jerk.

Ok, enough of that.

Yesterday was the official Eclipse premiere date and of course I have had my tickets for almost 2 months. ;) That's because I am Twihard. Heard of it? That's what you call diehard Twilight fans. I think my girlfriends would agree that I am one of these…….

Did I mention we saw ALL 3 movies in a row? Twilight at 7:15, New Moon at 9:30, & Eclipse at midnight. Oh yeah!

Pretty Ladies

I have really been enjoying my monthly Pokeno nights with my fun girlfriends! We had our 7th pokeno at my house in April and it was a lot of fun! Lauren & I co-hosted, which was great because we had the biggest group yet--9 girls! Here is a photo that Casey captured for us when he was allowed out of his room! :) (He spent most of the evening at the gym playing basketball).

Can You Say Pokeno?

In case you were wondering...

"Pokeno® is a game that is a combination of poker and keno, though it is pretty much like playing Bingo with standard playing cards. Pokeno® consists of game cards similar to Bingo cards that feature pictures of various playing cards. In basic Pokeno®, there are five squares across the board and five squares down, for a total of 25 squares. With a deck of cards at hand, cards are flipped over one at time and each player who has a board with that playing card pictured places a poker chip over the square. The first player to have five squares in a row is the winner."

We have played Pokeno for 6 months now! Our first game was the first Friday in October, 2009. We started with 5 girls: Laura, Ginni, Jenna, Natalie & Myself. Since then we have added Melody, Rachel, and Lauren. That makes for a total of 8 - although we've never had all 8 there at the same time before! Our first game night was at my house in October where Laura & I co-hosted, then Natalie's in November,  Ginni's at Christmas, Rachel's in January, Laura's in February, Ginni's again in March where Melody hosted, and this month its back to me and Lauren is co-hosting!

Last month we had Pokeno at Ginni's house! Here are a few pictures from our fun night!

Tomorrow is Friday and I am soooo excited about c|Life's marriage retreat that Casey and I are attending this weekend! Notes on that to come=)

Pokeno Pronounced Po-kee-noh

Last weekend me & the girls had our first Pokeno Night! We are having these monthly get togethers on the first Friday of every month. The first month was at my house. Each month, the host chooses how to get the word out (ie. invitations, e-vites, facebook), cooks dinner & dessert, and choose the gift theme. This first month Laura & I co-hosted it. I sent out invitations & made dinner, and Laura brought lots of yummy desserts! I made baked spaghetti from a recipe I got from Brenda at church! It was extra yummy, and we had plenty leftover for Casey to eat (which he has, several times). We decided that the gift would be “anything” this month since it was the first go around. I am already excited about next month! It will be at Natalie’s house on November 6th! If any of you girls out there would like to join, let us know! This month we had a group of 5, but it can be as big as 10, I believe!

Here we are holding up our game boards and cards with our milk and desserts on the table :) I forgot to mention that you put your gift in a paper bag so you can’t be swayed by wrapping paper. Everyone gets a gift. We had some really fun and cute gifts this month! I won an awesome pumpkin spice candle from Jenna! It is burning in my living room as we speak! :)
