Dayton's Birth Story

I will make a disclaimer just like I did with Sawyer's post… I will be giving some pretty graphic details, so don't read if you don't like that sort of thing. Seriously. I'm not really leaving anything out because I want to remember for myself. Consider yourself warned. ;)

The day I turned 39 weeks, December 20th, I had a doctor's appointment at 11:30am. I had been in pretty bad pain with "pubic symphysis dysfunction" for about a week…this is where there is too much of the hormone called Relaxin (which is aptly named) causes the ligaments that normally keep your pelvic bone aligned to become too relaxed and stretchy causing a popping sound that sounds a lot like bones/joints popping and make it feel like someone is grabbing each of your legs and pulling you apart like a wishbone - yeah, not real fun! It is as awful as it sounds, and honestly, sleeping was one of the worse parts. Everytime I would move in my sleep AT ALL I would wake up from the pain. Standing up or sitting down also hurt. The only way to get relief was to not move at all. So, anyway, I was getting pretty ready to be UN-pregnant at this point. My doctor knew that because I nearly started crying during my appointment. I had been dilated to 2-3 centimeters for nearly 3 weeks and thought I would have already had the baby by this point! At this appointment he told me I was now dilated to 4 cm. and the cervix was fully effaced. He also said the baby's head was "fully engaged" and he told me that he could induce that day or the following Sunday if I wanted. He knew that I did not want to be induced, but could tell that I was in a lot of pain and told me that since I was already having contractions (had been for a about 2 weeks) and was dilated, etc. that my labor would be "fast and easy" even if induced. I was still so uncertain and told him that I would go home, call Casey, and call back if I wanted to be induced either day (later that day or on Sunday the 23rd). I wasn't real happy about the fact of being induced on the 23rd because I was pretty sure that would mean I'd get home on Christmas day…but he wasn't able to induce on Friday or Saturday, so it was either later that SAME day or Sunday…

I left the office, in a lot more pain than I had come in with, and went to meet Casey, his parents, and Sawyer for lunch. At lunch I told them all about the appointment and Casey just seemed to want to do whatever I wanted to do. I wanted him to have more input so I waited til my mom called me back before making a decision. Sometimes you just want to talk to your mom, you know?! She was seeing clients back-to-back and was hard to get ahold of, but eventually called me back after lunch (around 1pm). She seemed to think inducing was a good idea if the doctor thought it was a good idea, but told me ultimately I should do what I wanted to do. I told her I kind of wanted to induce and she jumped fully on board and made me feel comfortable with it. I was nervous about it because most all of my friends did not have "easy" labors when given pitocin and I really wanted to try to go without an epidural, or at the very least, get one late in the game like I did with Sawyer. I knew that if I was given pitocin it would be a lot more painful and I would probably want an epidural early on.

I called Casey back and told him that I was going to call the doctor and see if he could still get me in later that evening. He said okay and I told him I'd call him back and let him know what Dr. Payne said. I called his office and talked to his nurse and she said she'd talk to him and call me right back. She seriously called me back within 5 minutes and said to go on to the hospital right then! I was freaked out. I thought I was going to have hours to prepare! I told her I would need to find someone to watch Sawyer and that I would head in as soon as I could. I lied. I was still driving home from lunch and was in the car! I called Casey and he started packing up at work to head home. I continued home, took my sleeping Sawyer out of the car and cried while I carried her to her crib and then just sat there and prayed over her. I hated that I was going to leave her while she was still sleeping and I hated that her life alone with us was about to change. I felt flooded with my "only-child emotions."  I wanted her to be able to remember her first 20 months of life alone with her parents that doted on only her. I know she wouldn't. That made me so sad. I have come to terms with it now and realize that having a brother will be great and that she will love having a sibling so close in age to play with for the next decade! Still, though, I wept and prayed and poured out all sorts of love over her as she slept. I felt so torn - it was a bittersweet feeling.

After I left her room, I immediately started the shower and started packing my bags. I was having crazy contractions during all of this and I think it was because I was so worked up! I took a shower, got everything ready for Sawyer to be watched by her Mimi & Poppy who were on their way, and got my own things together. Casey got home and packed his bag as well. We loaded the car and left Sawyer asleep in her room while Casey's parents sat in the living room waiting on her to wake up.

I was so nervous on the way to the hospital. We finally arrived at 3pm., about 2 hours after the nurse had told me to head in. I had signed in online in advance so check-in was easy and the showed me to my room. Here is my last pregnancy picture! 39 weeks on the day!
They said they would call Dr. Payne to find out what kind of drugs he wanted to use to start my labor. When they hooked me up to all the machines, though, they saw that I was still having natural, steady contractions about 5-8 minutes apart. They decided to just break my water and see what happened. They broke my water at 4pm (I was still dilated to 4cm) and immediately my contractions sped to 1 minute apart and stayed that way until 7:00pm!!! I went without an epidural and walked the halls from 4pm-6:30pm. The contractions were intense and I had to stop and hold onto the railings in the hallway every minute. There was only about 30 seconds of relief between each contraction and I was beginning to rethink my "no epidural" decision. At 6:30pm they checked me again and I had decided that if I was at 8cm or more that I would go without an epidural, but if I hadn't made much progress I couldn't take it much longer. I was only at a 5!!! It had been 2 1/2 hours so I asked for an epidural. The guy came in at 7pm with the epidural and I was so thankful. Immediate relief. I started feeling good, but the contractions kind of subsided and were a little father apart at first.

At about 7:30pm I started feeling the contractions again pretty fiercely and asked for them to re-administer my epidural. It helped, but I could still feel them for the rest of the time. I think that helps when it comes time to push, though. At 8pm I asked to be checked because I was feeling TONS of pressure and actually feeling the need to push -- even though I had an epidural! Sure enough, the nurse checks me and says "Wow! There's a reason you're feeling the need to push! You're already at a 10!"  I couldn't believe I had gone from 5 to 10 in an hour and a half!!!

They called Dr. Payne and he told her that he was "on his way" and she told me that she could tell he was in the car… He had told her to let me "labor down" for a while. I was not happy about this. I felt like I needed to push and that is not a fun feeling to ignore! Eventually a resident and a baby doctor were also in the room and were completely set up and we were just waiting on Dr. Payne to arrive. I asked if I could do some practice pushes and also for a mirror. I wanted to watch the baby be born. ;) I also think it helps to see progress - I know some others disagree or think that's gross or whatever. To each her own. ;)

I "practiced" for a little bit, but it became apparent that I was about to deliver the baby and was beginning to not be able to ignore the urge to push during contractions. They paged Dr. Payne again. He eventually arrived at 9:30pm (90 minutes later) and came in fully dressed in street clothes, told me he was going to change into scrubs, and would be right back. I "practiced" pushing some more and eventually was told to stop and just breathe until he came back. By this time Casey & I were beginning to get a little upset. I could have had this baby an hour ago!! They couldn't find Dr. Payne, but knew he was somewhere in the hospital. Finally, at 10pm he came back in and said "I think it's time to have a baby!" The first words out of my mouth were a tad snippy. I said "I could have had him an hour ago! Where have you been!?" Haha. I don't remember his reply. Pushing was easy - it was the waiting around that made me so uncomfortable! I pushed 2 or 3 more times and Dr. Payne started saying "easy easy easy" which was different because last time he was yelling at me saying, "push harder harder harder!" Haha.

Dayton was born at 10:19pm on 12/20/2012! He was immediately given to me - and that was so surreal and crazy to me because it was such a different experience than I had with Sawyer! She was whisked away to be worked on and I didn't see her for a good 15+ minutes. Dayton was perfectly fine! What a blessing!! Casey cut the umbilical cord and then they asked me if I'd like him to be cleaned up and weighed, etc. I said "yes, of course!" secretly thinking that I wanted to hold him better, but not while he was all gross. :)

He weighed 7 lbs, 6 oz. (1 lb and 9 oz bigger than Sawyer!) and was 20" long (only a quarter inch longer than S). His head and chest were both 13".  He didn't have as much hair as she did and didn't seem to look like her or Casey or myself! Mystery baby! :) He does have my crinkly ears like Sawyer does, though. :)

He seemed perfectly content while I held him and visitors came to meet him! He was very alert and awake and had dark, blue eyes. :) He was all puffy at first and I heard Casey saying that he wasn't as cute as Sawyer. Haha! Just hours later the puffiness went away and he was the most handsome little boy I've ever seen. :) I still think he's a cutie! And he definitely LOOKS like a boy!! He's broader and barrel-chested -- he just looks manly! :)
Our first night with him was easy - we were moved to our new room and settled in around 1am and then we had to wake him up to feed him every 3 hours and he slept great! He was a natural eater, too. I am nursing and that is always helpful if the baby knows what to do! (Sawyer did not).
I had a fever and a really high heart rate and they kept checking on me every hour so that was the only annoying part, but everything was back to normal after about 12 hours.
The next day (Friday) we had many visitors and it was a good time. On Friday night he gave us a little scare. It was around 9 or 10pm and we had the lights off for the night. Casey was changing his diaper and all of the sudden he starts freaking out in a panic! He kept saying "He's not breathing! He can't breathe!" I really thought he was just having a freak out moment because it was dark and I couldn't see anything, but when I turned the light on I could see that he really wasn't breathing and that he was choking! Casey was pounding him on the back and I was kind of talking him through what to do and I hit the panic call button and the nurse was also talking us through it all while someone was headed our way. Casey was yelling back at her "I'm doing that!! He's still not breathing!" A nurse entered our room about the time that Dayton started coughing up tons of amniotic fluid. They wheeled him down to the nursery (and we followed) where they put a tube down his throat and started pumping out amniotic fluid. They got out an entire ounce (30 mL) which is a LOT for a newborn to have in their tiny tummy. At a day old their stomach is only the size of a marble! Goodness gracious. I was so glad this happened at the hospital and not at home. I felt so bad for Casey - he was obviously freaked out. He choked once when he was in the 2nd grade and his teacher did the Heimlich on him and out came a jawbreaker! Now he is pretty terrified of choking and it really bothered him to see Dayton like that. Plus, he is the one that had to beat on him for a couple minutes while he wasn't breathing! Traumatizing to do that to your own 6 pound baby. :( Again, though, so glad we were still at the hospital and that they could get the rest of the fluid out before we went home.

Saturday, the next day, Dayton was circumcised and did well during that procedure, but didn't eat again or even really wake up for about 5 hours afterward. Poor guy! I was not prepared for how all of that looked and was shocked when I saw! Casey dealt with all of the diapers for the next 24 hours because I couldn't stand the site of it!!!

Our hospital stay was short -- we left on Saturday around 2pm when he was only 39 hours old! I was a little nervous that he wasn't even 2 days old before we headed home, but he was super healthy and perfectly fine!

I am so in love with our little guy and am so thankful for his healthy body and our helpful nurses while at the hospital. Casey & I have loved both experiences at Baylor. Definitely recommend it. :) We prayed for a healthy baby and a non-complicated delivery during the entire pregnancy and God said "yes" to that and it was a great experience! So thankful and blessed!

Family of Four (4)

I have been out of the blogosphere for a bit, but have wanted to get my thoughts down for a while!! I decided to just put it on hold in order to be present with my babies during these first few weeks and most nap times I use for a nap myself! Right now both kiddos are sleeping and I decided to go ahead and blog instead of nap for once :) I have so much I want to blog about…Christmas, Dayton's birth, the first few weeks home, the snow day, our 5 year anniversary, etc., but instead this time I will just blog about how much I am enjoying my family of 4! I will hit the high points and save the pictures for later!

I will start with the beginning…

We got home from the hospital on December 22nd around 3pm and Sawyer was still with Mimi & Poppy. They brought her to our house around 5pm and I was prepared to give her lots of love and attention because she had started missing me and home pretty badly. She had stayed the night with my mom & grandma on Tuesday before Dayton was born so that I could go to a Mavericks game with Casey & some youth kids and it turned out that she was away from me for 5 days in a row because of the timing of Dayton's birthday. So, all that to say, she was missing her momma!  When she arrived at our house I had just finished nursing Dayton and given him to Casey so that I could meet her at the door! She was pretty clingy at first, but then spotted the balloon that Casey's parents had brought to the hospital for Dayton and that kept her interest for a long while. :) That night was our first night at home with 2 children and it wasn't bad at all! Sawyer was pretty good and went to bed around 8pm and Dayton was the easiest baby EVER for his 1st week at home. My goodness, he never hardly whimpered! I had to and still sometimes have to wake him up to eat. I think God blessed us with that because He knew I would be super overwhelmed my first week with 2 babies, and a crying baby would have added to that for sure.

We went to the Christmas Eve service at c|Life on the 24th at 6pm and everything was good until after the service and I started feeling awful. For some reason that's when my hormones decided to attack me and I cried on the way home from church. Casey probably thought I had lost my mind. I was just feeling tired and exhausted and (maybe TMI) my milk had come in and it HURT. I was also thinking about all that I needed to do that night - lay out presents from Santa, take pictures of the kids in their Christmas pjs, get ready for the BIG day of travel the next day (we went to 3 different houses--not including our own--for Christmas with a 5 day old baby!!). I was just stressed. And hormonal. Ha! I calmed down though and that evening was enjoyable after I got a little bit done.

Christmas morning was SO much fun for me! I can really see how Christmas as a parent is so much better than Christmas as a kid. We got up, got a little bit ready, got Dayton, went into Sawyer's room, and woke her up! Then we all went into the living room to see what Santa had brought Sawyer & Dayton! I loved this. So fun. We then opened our stockings and opened presents to and from each other. Sawyer really got into it and I already look forward to next year with her being even more aware and Dayton starting to understand, too. Next year I plan to do a little Advent calendar with Sawyer and be really purposeful with explaining Jesus' birth to her, etc. We will probably spend a little longer at home in the coming Christmases before traveling around, too.

After we got ready and left we went to Casey's parents' house and opened presents & stockings with them and the cousins (Sawyer & Dayton have 3 cousins: Caleb (6), and twins Sadie & Luke (almost 2) which is fun!). Afterwards we went to Casey's grandmother's house for lunch Beverly's entire side!

After that we traveled to Mabank to my mom's side where we have Christmas with Momma Sheila & Pappa Donnie. I have done this on Christmas afternoon since I was a little girl and it was always what I looked forward to most. At around 4pm I started to feel really sick and wanted to leave. I got aches and a sore throat and headache and it hit me SUPER fast & REALLY hard. I mean, I felt awful! Plus, the snow was coming so we packed up and headed out earlier than planned. We drove home to a white house and backyard! I still felt pretty awful and stayed sick for about a week. Not fun with a newborn and toddler to take care of. :(

The next day was Dayton's first doctor's appointment! Usually that is done at the 4 day mark, but since he was 4 days old on Christmas Eve, we had to wait until the 26th (6 days old). We got there and had to wait a while because a lot of the staff was late due to the ice & snow! Dayton has the same doctor as Sawyer - Dr. Pfleiger, and we LOVE him. He is so good with kids and so good with explaining things to me. Unfortunately, at this appointment we found out that Dayton was already sick and had a DOUBLE ear infection. It was all I could do to hold myself together in that appointment. I could not believe it. I still can't. How did my baby get sick already?! Well, it was likely me or Sawyer. Sawyer had been coughing with a runny nose for about a week and I had started feeling sick the day before. Also, lots of people held Dayton on Christmas that were coughing and sneezing and all of that. I felt like an awful mom. Ugh. I had all of these hopes for the day of us playing in the snow with Sawyer and having a great family day and then they told me Dayton was sick and BAM - here came the hormones again. Casey dropped me off at home with both children to go get Dayton's medicine and he came home to me crying in the same spot he had left me. I was a wreck. I cried on and off that whole day. I even called my mom crying. I was so upset and couldn't get myself together. Casey was great - he took care of Sawyer COMPLETELY and let me tend to Dayton. I just felt like I needed to hold him constantly and felt awful that he could be in pain. We did buy Sawyer some boots that day so that she could play in the snow and she absolutely loved it. We were kind of shocked how much she liked it. She loves outside, so we shouldn't have been that surprised I guess.

The next few days I got a little better and started feeling a little more normal. I may have cried once or twice - I can't really remember. :) Lucky for me, Casey was off from work December 21st-January 2nd and he was SUPER MAN - for real. He worked so hard to take care of Sawyer and make me feel comfortable and also help with Dayton during the night. I could not have done it without him! Super husband/Super dad of the year! :)

December 29th was our 5 year anniversary and we always make it extra special by taking a small trip, but obviously that wasn't going to happen this year. Casey's parents came over and watched Sawyer while we went to Cheesecake Factory (and Dayton tagged along, too, but never even woke up really, haha)! We had a lot of fun and always love going there and getting dinner and our favorite cheesecake and I love their cafe mocha!! YUM!

Throughout these last 3 weeks people from church have been bringing us amazing dinners as well! I have not had to cook at all and we have had plenty of leftovers, too! Thanks to Ginni for putting together our care calendar in order to make this happen! We have loved all the food!!!

New Years Eve was chill and we spent the first half of the evening with the Rickersons (who brought us salad, lasagna, and chocolate cake!) and then we went to bed early ;) Dayton didn't make it awake for his first new years and that is fine with me! :)

Casey went back to work on January 3rd and I was so nervous about it! I didn't know how I would get through the day without him, but it wasn't so bad! I didn't leave the house, but both kids were fed, dressed, loved on, and played with and we all survived! Since then I already feel like I am getting better at this 2 kid thing and even ventured out by myself--in the pouring rain--to Chick-fil-A for a play date! I was ready to have Sawyer get out and play and she had fun playing on the playground (for the 1st time without me!) with Lola! She says her name and it comes out like "Elmo" or "Ella," haha.

That has been the last 3 weeks in a nutshell! I cannot believe that tomorrow Dayton will be 3 weeks old. Time has seriously flown by. Oh, and by the way, both of my children were born on a Thursday! Fun!

A lot more has been on my mind with this baby…we have plans to adopt our 3rd and make that our final addition, so we are pretty sure that this is our last biological baby (I say pretty sure because I hate to say for sure when I know God is in control of our lives - not us;) and that makes it seem a LOT different for me. I was in love with and infatuated with Sawyer, but because she was my first baby I also worried about her a lot more. I didn't just enjoy it the way I am now. I held her and "oohed" and "aahed" over her, but I didn't just sit and hold her for hours on end with only her on my mind.

I do that with Dayton. I am extremely aware of how fast he is growing and how fleeting this newborn stage is. I was so sleep-deprived with Sawyer…she needed to eat like every 1.5-2 hours around the clock and didn't sleep for 7 hours straight until she was 4 months old. Like I said earlier, I wake Dayton up to feed him and I am still not getting a lot of sleep, but I am somehow feeling better than I did when Sawyer was a newborn. Sawyer was tiny forever and took her a couple of months to get as big as Dayton is now…she wore many of her newborn clothes until she was 3 or 4 months old! Dayton is already growing out of his!! I am just so much more conscientious that this is most likely my last little baby. My last chance to enjoy this tiny stage. I am cherishing it. I love it. I wouldn't trade it for sleep or my pre-pregnant body. No way.

Casey and I both talk about how Dayton already seems SO sweet. He & Sawyer are total opposite babies. She was sort of feisty and sassy from the get-go and even though we thought she was an easy baby, she definitely cried a lot more and let us know when something was not the way she wanted! She was never much of a cuddler and now prefers to be up and doing and entertaining us! She cracks us up!! Dayton definitely prefers to be held and picking him up soothes him right away and completely. He just seems like he is going to be laid back and chill and sweet. I wonder if he will be? I thought Sawyer would be a chatterbox almost immediately and she is (when we are at home at least). I wonder if you can tell a baby's personality just a little bit this early? We will see if I am right. :)

I love them both so much and in total different ways and also in the same way. It's complex and new and I like it. I really really like having a boy and a girl. I didn't ever think I would like having a boy, but boy was I wrong! ;) It's strange because newborns are all the same right? I mean you have to look inside their diaper to see their gender and what you're working with anyway, right? Wrong. I can tell he is a boy and there is a different connection with him because of it. Casey & I put it this way… Sawyer will always be Casey's little girl…and when she grows up it will be more like she is my friend and someone I talk to daily. Dayton will always be my little boy…and when she grows up it will be more like he is Casey's buddy and someone he enjoys doing "man stuff" with. It's like the opposite gender pulls on your heart strings in a different way, but the same gender grows up to be one of your closest friends. Does that make sense? Does anyone else feel that way or agree? They are unique and special in different ways. I love it! I am an only child so this whole 2 kids thing was kind of scary to me. Will I love him as much? Will one feel favored? I don't really worry about these things now because I already know that I love them equally, but just totally differently. We will both work on making them feel special and unique in their relationships with both of us. One-on-one time with both and family time with all. I can't wait! (But I also want time to stand still for a little bit first;)

Anyway, all that to say, I am loving being a momma of 2 precious babies. They are both huge blessings from God that I pray I will never take for granted. My husband is also awesome. Having a second baby made me see him in a new light as well. He is good to me. :) Love you, babe.

She's 20 Months!!!

I've been saying it for a long time now because ever since I got pregnant people asked "how for apart will they be?" and I've been saying "20 months" for what feels like ages! And now it is here! And she really is 20 months old! Ahhh! That sounds so old to me. I cannot believe she will be TWO YEARS OLD in less than 4 months from now! Geeze, where does the time go?!

Here's a quick update on Sawyer:

  • Her vocabulary is booming. I can't even give you a list of words because she says just about anything I tell her to say. She will try repeating just about every word. And she uses some of them, again, later, on her own. She has also started putting words together to make little sentences like "I need bow" or "I want Momma" or "I want cheese" or "Wanna go outside?" It's cute & we love it :)
  • She's in a size 4 diaper and completely ready to potty train. She tells us when she has gone 'poo poo' or 'tee tee' and will grab her diaper. She also knows what the potty is. She knows to flush it, and she knows toilet paper goes in it. The only reason I haven't gone with this full-force is because the baby is about to be here and I didn't want her to completely digress if I lost time to focus on it, or whatnot. I'm still not sure what life will be like in a week or so and I didn't want to add another thing to my plate just yet. We will get there shortly. :)
  • She's pretty much in the right size clothing now - size 18 months…usually fits well but too big in the waist. That's just gonna be how life is for her because she has a tiny waist and bottom and long, lean legs.
  • She absolutely loves to go outside. Almost annoyingly so, haha. She will cry when we come back inside. I'm telling you she LOVES the outdoors.
  • She still loves to dance and I think this might be something we 'put her in' when she is just a little older. She just loves music and turns circles and the whole thing.
  • She's eating a little bit more, but still super picky. At least what she likes is mostly all fruit and veggies!
  • The girl loves herself some milk. We go through several gallons a week! Too bad milk isn't cheaper!!!
  • She is such a little momma. She loves her babies and almost always has one that she is feeding, kissing, hugging, holding, or covering with a blanket! I can't wait til she opens her Christmas presents and sees a few new baby dolls and also some baby accessories! She will love them!
  • Still a fan of Elmo and Sesame Street and is starting to watch it for longer periods of time (like 10 minutes) before she gets bored and runs off :) She usually gets her Elmo and dances around with him while they play the opening song. Super cute!
  • Sawyer gives hugs and kisses more freely now and you can pretty much always count on a goodbye hug and kiss! LOVE it! :)
  • She is still a Momma's girl and wants me for most "tired" activities like cuddling, going down for nap or nighttime, and reading books.
  • She loves rough-housing with her Daddy! She still gets super excited when he gets home and runs around squealing for a few minutes. :) She loves to play with him and get thrown around (which I don't do much of).
  • Sawyer knows who Santa is and will point to his picture. She is also pretty in love with Christmas lights and will point out the window and say "oooh, pretty lights!" So cute. She also has "her" ornaments on the Christmas tree and takes them on and off pretty much all day. ;) You can tell her to go get her ornament and she knows exactly what to do, haha. The rest of the ornaments are up pretty high. ;)
  • Sawyer loves animals. Unfortunately we got rid of both Lucy and Ella this month & Sawyer cried and looked for them for a little while. I got part of it on video. It was super sad…she looked under the table and down the hall saying "Lucy? Ella?" It almost broke my heart, but I think she's forgotten about them for the most part now and I know having a little brother will take her mind off of it for sure. ;)
  • Sawyer sleeps 11-12 hours at night and 2-3 hours during the day. Love that nap time has gotten a little longer lately! It's been good for this tired, pregnant Momma! ;)
  • She got her 1st hair cut!! Eekk! Her hair is so straight and just reminds me of a scare crow so we went to get nipped a little to see if it would help it calm down some, and it did for a while, but now it seems to look about the same as before, haha. I think it just needs to get a little longer in order to lay down a bit. :)
Here are a few favorite pictures of the last month as Sawyer went from 19 to 20 months old…

I love all of the following pictures…
She was dressed cute after church so we wanted to get some pictures of her in front of the Christmas tree. We kept telling her to smile and say "cheese" and she kept saying it and putting her hands in the air- I'm not sure why she did that part but we thought it was funny :)
