Week 20
Baby Changes: Your baby
weighs about 10 1/2 ounces now. He's also around 6 1/2 inches long from head to
bottom and about 10 inches from head to heel — the length of a
banana. (For the first 20 weeks, when a baby's legs are curled up
against his torso and hard to measure, measurements
are taken from the top of his head to his bottom — the "crown to
rump" measurement. After 20 weeks, he's measured from head to toe.)
He's swallowing more these days, which is good practice
for his digestive system. He's also producing meconium, a black, sticky
by-product of digestion. This gooey substance will accumulate in his bowels,
and you'll see it in his first soiled diaper (some babies pass meconium in the
womb or during delivery).

Moment This Week: Our vacation in New
Orleans!! We had a lot of fun…there will be a separate blog post about that
soon. :)
Gender: BOY!!
Movement: I feel him all the time now – he seems to be really active,
haha
Food
Craving: sweets. ;)
What I
am looking forward to: Getting started in the nursery!!
Pregnant
Belly: There’s no mistake…I look pregnant!
People in the airport noticed, people in New Orleans noticed, everyone noticed.
Haha. I have gained 3 more pounds since my last appt. last month (putting me at
123 lbs. now which means I’ve gained 5 pounds total so far).
Symptoms: BACK PAIN, BACK PAIN, BACK PAIN. I’m talking about severe back
pain. No Bueno. I don’t know what I’m going to do if it stays this bad…right
now it’s not muscular, it’s like a nerve or something, and I even scream
sometimes when I do something because the pain is so sharp and so awful!! :(
Me at 20 weeks inside our hotel in NOLA!
